This will be my 15th world tournament and eye can tell you this, if the main arena has ice under it you could expect similar concessions to a hockey game, I would think, with all kinds of food and drink, you never know for sure and I think thats what makes each site unique. I have enjoyed the many crafts that are known to the area that are sometimes there. So it would be safe to say there will be refreshments for sure, the rest is a mystery but thats ok....ITS GETTING CLOSE... Hey Jerry do you guys ever do anything the second week?? I'm no good at golf but I could drive you around..Safe Traveling To Ceder Rapids..

Why doesn't somebody answer this question? I'm sure more people than just Grillmaster are wondering the same thing... beer and horseshoes, right?

Hey Cobbler, I believe someone from Iowa would have to answer this, but I would be very surprised if the food vendors there would not have beer, see you at the Ringer, I'm glad I don't have to pitch you this year.. Cheers

Thanks Fisherman... see you on 7/3 for sure! I see you will still have to contend with Tony... If he gets 'em flying right straight, you might have had better luck with me!
Is there anyone from Iowa reading here? Seems like there should be...

Me and most of my 40 foot friends all pitch at 7 am we should be done about 9:30 and even the best of us beer drinkers are not interested at that time! Might need a bloody mary though. at the last 2 W.T. I've attended i have been on 8pm shift and the beer stand was closed when we finished. I said both times the only time worse than 8pm was 7am well this year i got it. maybe my body will be fresh and full of energy or maybe stiff and still rigid. Don't know but we will make the best of it and have the whole rest of the day to enjoy ourselves.see ya all there and we will have a good time. Thanks Cedar Rapids We love ya

Cobbler, Dick Reiser here & I'm from Iowa. This is my first world & just thrilled about it. Don't know about all the vendors but am sure some one will chime in. I hope to watch some of the better players & of course get some pointers. I'll save a beer for you should we meet.Har har

I just received word from Mr. Ralph Palmer in Cedar Rapids that the concessions at the 2010 World Tournament will carry the typical offerings, along with a plate lunch with some choices.
Also - beer WILL be available to the last shift at the conclusion of their play.

Does that mean you can't buy beer until after the 8 pm classes have finished pitching?

That means you can STILL buy beer after the last shift of classes is finished.

In answer to some of the questions posed below:
1. No pets of any size will be allowed inside the venue.
2. There are numerous restaurants located near the hotels. Some hotels, including the host hotel provide complimentary breakfast.
I am getting more information on breakfast at the concession area and will post that as soon as available.

Tina,
Thanks for your efforts in providing necessary information for the pitchers. So that nobody shows up too late for check-in, it might be good to point out that the 7:00 a.m. shift needs to begin checking in at 6:00 a.m. and not eating breakfast at that time, especially on their first day. I would think it might be difficult to find places serving breakfast at 5 or 5:30 a.m., unless it's a 24 hour eating place. Even complimentary breakfasts at hotels don't usually start that early.
