Greetings
What a day at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena !  The large numbers of volunteer workers, somewhere around 50 I believe, worked all day and have about 80% of the setup complete. The courts are all in place and also the fencing is nearly done. The clay looks identical to last year's at Springfield, but was mixed differently so time will tell.
If you would like to view an online shutterfly album to see what the setup looks like, here is the link:

You won't have to download anything, just watch the slideshow.
I'd really want to thank every one of you volunteers who donated a hard day of work.

Maybe more pics tomorrow

We had a great crew today. I once counted 47 workers there. Ralph had a nice lunch catered in for us. Mr Marvin worked his butt off today. We cut the rubber matting and it all worked out well. We're using some of the 14 foot center sections as a walkway behind the boxes. The floor needs to be protected and this worked perfectly. We still have walkway rubber for sale, so don't get nervous Fisherman.

It was constant motion after 7:30 this morning.  Everyone stayed busy, moving from job to job like clock work.  Pleasure to work with each of them.  So, Fisherman, should they put your name on the list for tear down?   Safe travels to everyone.

There will be a sanctioned "world warm up" tournament in the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena on Saturday  pre-registration is required and entries will be limited.
I hope you enjoy these photos of the arena .

Smiley The photos make me more eager to pack up & head for Iowa now!  The lighting looks to be good, and this looks to be the best location for spectator viewing we have had in recent years.   Fans will be close enough to really be involved in the game, and who knows  we might have a little cheering along the way!   A big thanks to  our Iowa friends, our NHPA folks, and others who are doing the hard work to get everything ready.  Should be a great tournament.

Looking Good!!!!! Thanks to all for great looking set up. What type of seating is there in the second arena??? Right hand side there is what looks to be the lower level of bleachers is that the case or is that a bench at floor level and there is seating on a upper level like there was at Bismark ND.??
See Ya there on the 31st

Larry
There are bleachers on one side of the olympic rink at ground level. In the upper loft there will be a row of chairs.
