Within the past week the NHPF Directors approved three sites to receive $1500 grants. The Balboa Park H.C. in San Diego, CA, will be updating the walkways on their 22 courts as they prepare to bid for the 2014 State Championships. The Affiliated H.P.C. in Fairmont, WV will also use their grant to make leveling improvements on the walkways of their 14 courts. The third grant is going to the Town of Sterling, CT to assist in the construction of 6-8 new courts that will initially be used by a junior league of some 30 junior pitchers from the Sterling Community School.

The latest 2012 grant for $1500 was issued today to the City of Ames, Iowa. NHPA member Jan Warwick applied for the grant to assist the City who has approved replacing 9 older courts with 12 new ones that will have full walkways. There are some 28 IHHPA members that pitch weekly on the old courts, 13 of which are 30' pitchers that have been pitching from grass. The 12 new courts with an estimated cost of near $15000 will be a great improvement for the members and teams in the CITHL League and the Iowa Games which have been contested at this site for the past 25 years.

Wow that's awesome, I didn't know this existed.
Arlington TX needs help. 20 Courts in place since before 1980 have same foundation issues. We are trying to get the city to help but so far they have shrugged their shoulders. Located in Meadowbrook city park.

How do we go about submitting for grant?

Arlington also has 8 new courts in Vandergriff Park where we are trying to get city to set up water and lights. So far no luck. We are also looking to add more courts at this location.

Need money something fierce.
