Promoter/Organizer: Bob has been a contributing writer to the NHPA Newsline since when he was appointed Junior Promotion Director in 1990. He then moved to Promotion Director and added "The Horseshoe Trader" to his Newsline articles. Bob was recipient of the NHPA Presidential Award in 1995 and the Stokes Memorial Award in 1998. In 2004, he began the series "Horseshoe Facts & Folklore." He was then appointed NHPA Historian in 2008 and began writing books on the sport's history. His published books include: "AAU National Amateur Horseshoe Pitching Championships," "The Lee Rose Story" and "World Champions of Horseshoe Pitching."

Bob passed away on September 26, 2018.
