Promoter/Organizer: Will enjoyed a career as a sports reporter
and writer. His paper, The Fargo
Forum, afforded more sports page space for horseshoe pitching than probably
any newspaper in the country. In
the 1960s and 70s, Will was editor of the Double Ringer publication
which served the upper Midwest. He
brought the 1967 World Tournament to Fargo, North Dakota and served as Tournament
Director. Will served as Danny Kuchcinski's
personal manager, scheduling pitching exhibition across the country, including
an appearance on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show. He was elected NHPA Vice President in
1966, was MGSHPA President in 1968-69, elected to the MGSHPA Hall of Fame in 1979,
and recipient of the Stokes Memorial Award in 1967. Will passed away on January 8, 1990,
just shy of his 63rd birthday.
