GARY KLINE, Dayton, Ohio

Organizer: Gary Kline was born February 22, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio. He was an ambitious promoter in the sport for Ohio and it became obvious that Gary had a distinct love for statistics and the preservation of our sports history. He served on the NHPA Publicity and Promotion Committee, on the NHPA Hall of Fame Committee and for 30 years as the NHPA Historian. Gary was the first NHPA member to index careers of individual pitchers and to compile an all-time World Tournament wins list. In 1980, Gary completed an incredible task with the publication of “The Official NHPA History of the World Tournament 1909-1980.” For his efforts, Gary was a recipient of the Stokes Memorial Award in 1980. Gary passed away on March 6, 2008.
