Organizer: Born July 18, 1916, Herb Pinch became interested in
horseshoe pitching in 1935. Over
the years, Herb entered many tournaments, with a ringer average between 60% to
70%. Herb was Regional Director for
Pennsylvania and New York State Associations. He brought exhibition games to Sharon,
PA with such greats as Ted Allen, Jimmy Risk and Raymond Frye. Mr. and Mrs. Pinch also handled Game Related
Sales in their area.
In 1960, Herb won the Pennsylvania State Sportsman Award and in
1969 the Special NHPA Award for outstanding service. He was inducted to the Pennsylvania State
Hall of Fame in 1978. Herb passed
away February 28, 2001.
