Player: Teresa “Tari” Powell’s career began
as Tari Carpenter and included a Junior Girl’s World Championship in
1976. The following year she joined
the Women’s rank and came in runner-up at the Illinois State Tournament. In 1978 she was State Champion and went
on to win 11 State titles. In 1984
she won the first of her Women’s World Championships, pitching 80.6%
ringers. She also was world
champion in 1990 going undefeated and pitching 83.1%. She won her third championship in 1991
and repeated the 83.1% average.
