Phyllis Quist, WA

Promoter/Organizer: Phyllis Quist has served horseshoe pitching organizations at the club, charter, and national levels for over 20 years. She also started pitching horseshoes those many years ago and immediately got involved at the club and charter levels. She became the Washington charter Sec/Treas in 1996 for two years and the local club Sec/Treas in 1998, a position she still holds today. Phyllis was Washington's charter President from 2000-2004 and State Promotions Director from 2004-2006. She has been the State's 'Awards' Director since 1999. Phyllis has attended countless World Tournaments (WT) and assisted the NHPA in many capacities. She co-chaired the State Officer's meeting from 2001- to 2013 at which time she was appointed to the NHPF Board of Directors. She remains in that position and works the WT every year at the NHPF table. She has been a tireless worker for horseshoe pitching in the Northwest and at the national level. She and husband Jim were chosen as 'Mr. and Mrs. Horseshoes' for the Pacific Northwest in 1993 and she was inducted into Washington's HOF in 1997. Phyllis received an NHPA Achievement Award in 2003 and a Presidential Award in 2016.
