Player: Lorraine Thomas of Lockport, New York, won the Women’s World Championship in 1968 and 1974. Incredibly she was runner-up eight other years and twice placed third. Twice she tied for first but lost in playoffs in 1966 and 1976. Lorraine was New York State Champion 9 times. She is also known for her promotional work and pitching exhibitions.
