Player: Art Tyson was born August 14, 1939, and his big step into the limelight was in 1977 when he won the New York State Championship in a two-game playoff over the legendary Carl Steinfeldt. He won seven more New York titles. Art started his career in 1969, in Connecticut and won the Connecticut State Champ in 1973. His World Tournament career is incredible, he qualified for the Men’s Championship Class 29 times, compiling 421 wins and a career ringer % of 73.09. He had 15 top ten finishes and three second place finishes: 1991, 1996 and 1999.
